[Updated] Pokémon HOME support coming imminently this month to Nintendo Switch Sinnoh titles

Pokémon within Pokémon BDSP and Pokémon Legends: Arceus won’t be stuck there forever!

The official Pokémon website has announced that support for Pokémon HOME will be coming for the two latest Nintendo Switch titles, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus. When? Well… “soon”™.

A new update to Pokémon HOME (version 2.0.0) will soon arrive, adding the ability to link to Pokémon Legends: ArceusPokémon Brilliant Diamond, and Pokémon Shining Pearl, along with past games Pokémon SwordPokémon ShieldPokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, and Pokémon GO.

Pokémon Legends: ArceusPokémon Brilliant DiamondPokémon Shining PearlPokémon Sword, and Pokémon Shield will be mutually compatible with Pokémon HOME, and you will be able to deposit and withdraw Pokémon to and from each of these games. For example, you will be able to take a Pikachu that you caught in Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield into Pokémon Legends: ArceusPokémon Brilliant Diamond, or Pokémon Shining Pearl.

So strange.

Pokémon caught in other games transferred to Pokémon Legends: Arceus will appear in a Strange Ball, and likewise for Pokémon from ancient Sinnoh (or Hisui) to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl(The Galar games will simply use a Poké Ball instead.)

Once support goes live, you will be able to receive Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup with Hidden Abilities as Mystery Gifts in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME for depositing a Pokémon into it from Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Likewise, a Pokémon from Pokémon Legends: Arceus will earn you a Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott with maximum effort levels as Mystery Gifts.

Are you happier than AZ being reunited to see this news, or has it been too long for you to care anymore? After all, it’s been six months coming…

UPDATE – it appears that a date and time has now been confirmed, with Pokémon HOME going under maintenance from 17:00 PDT May 17th (00:00 UTC May 17th) to 23:00 PDT May 17th (06:00 UTC May 18th). Part of this maintenance will also involve finally adding connectivity to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Thanks to professor plum for the tip.
