Bug discovered in Surprise Trade that can crash your game
Be very careful when using Surprise Trade for the time being!
Heads-up, Trainers! It looks like there’s a bug going around involving Surprise Trade and a malicious Pokémon in Pokémon Sword and Shield that could potentially crash your game.
Kaphotics on Twitter reported these findings.
Beware! There's a bug in Sword/Shield that can crash your game if you receive a maliciously crafted Pokémon via Surprise Trade. It'll crash your game when you try to access online features (via Y-COM), preventing online interactions until a patch is released.

So far, the game only appears to crash when the Y-COM’s online features are accessed.
Kaphotics also confirmed that the issue does not mess with save data.
Your save data won't be corrupted; the Pokémon you received from Surprise Trade is waiting to be received and will crash when the game tries to receive it. Can't launch any online features. It'll also crash if received via trade, but only once — just release it afterwards.

So far, there’s no official word from The Pokémon Company about a patch to alleviate the issue.
Stay tuned for more!
