Pokémon GO: now with less Rattata, Pidgey and Zubat
Professor Willow’s new research results show Rattata, Pidgey and Zubat have become rarer in Pokémon GO. On top of that, Rattata and Pidgey no longer hatch from eggs.
Bad news for Pokémon GO players who haven’t found themselves a top percentage Rattata yet, according to Professor Willow’s research. Pokémon GO’s official twitter account tells us about his findings.
Professor Willow has discovered that Pidgey & Rattata no longer hatch from Eggs. He also found that Eevee now hatches from 5 km Eggs only.

Professor Willow has discovered that you may encounter other Pokémon where Pidgey, Rattata, and Zubat were previously more commonly found.

The shrink in the population of Rattata and Pidgey was discovered only fourteen minutes after Willow’s research denoted the inability for these Pokémon to produce offspring through eggs. A simple matter of natural selection or mere coincidence?
Either way, in-game it will be easier to catch and hatch the more interesting Pokémon species from now on. Most interesting is that 2 km eggs will have a notably increased chance to hatch a starter or Pikachu now. But of course it can still hatch into Caterpie or Weedle as well. (Or Spearow, Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Zubat, Geodude or Magikarp.)
Let’s all take a moment to appreciate Professor Willow, who must have been hatching hundreds and hundreds of eggs just now for his research to support his claims. Then, happy hunting everyone!
