Pokémon Legends: Z-A Showcased in latest Pokémon Presents
Legends Z-A has been announced for 2025!
Legends: Arceus and Kalos fans rejoice! A new Legends game has been announced at this year’s Pokémon Presents showcase, titled Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This game appears to be set in Lumiose City and, based on the title, implies at least partial focus on AZ and Zygarde. We’ll (hopefully) finally get that expanded lore!

Not much is known about the game right now. Other than AZ and Zygarde, we can potentially look forward to Mega Evolutions, the first battle ‘gimmick’, returning to the series once more. And since the title showcases a Lumiose City ‘urban development plan’, we might expect some focus on us as the player character helping the city modernize – and become the Lumiose City we know in the present day.
Worryingly however, this additional Tweet (Xeet?) from Nintendo of America states that the game takes place entirely in Lumiose City:

But given the premise of the game it’s possible that Lumiose City is a large, underdeveloped area ripe for building and exploration, so we’re hoping it will be bigger than it seems.
How do you feel about this new announcement? Are you happy it’s in 2025, and not 2024?
