New nicknames discovered for Glaceon, Leafeon evolution in GO

We now have a total of seven nicknames that can be used for evolving Eevee into your Eeveelution of choice. Shellos forms are now regional as well.

The new wave release of generation four Pokémon in Pokémon GO today has finally given players the likes of Leafeon and Glaceon, two popular Eeveelutions. The Mossy Lure and Glacial Lure modules respectively can be used to evolve an Eevee into them – by standing within range of a PokéStop with the Lure running, you gain the evolution option for the two. The catch: these Lure modules only last 30 minutes in normal circumstances, and cost 200 coins each in the in-game shop.

However, a nickname trick can be used to avoid needing these new pay-to-own items to evolve Eevee into Leafeon and Glaceon! Naming your Eevee Rea allows you to evolve it into Glaceon, while a name of Linnea will evolve it into Leafeon. However, this can only be done once. You also need 25 Candy for the evolution here. No Sinnoh Stone is required.

These two names are shared by trainers in Pokémon Sun and Moon who owned these Pokémon in a post-game quest.

In other news, after a second botched attempt at making Shellos regional, it seems they finally are. Pink Shellos spawn west of the Prime Meridian line, and blue Shellos east of it.
