He’s the newest fighter for the Pokémon franchise to Smash!

In the Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate right now, Incineroar has been announced as a new fighter.

Incineroar, the evolved form of Litten from Pokémon Sun & Moon, was announced right after the introduction of Street Fighter’s Ken, who became Ryu’s echo fighter. The Fire/Dark type Pokémon becomes the tenth Pokémon to appear as a main fighter in the Smash Bros. series.

“So, you want to fight fire with fire, huh?” shouted Ken as Incineroar made an appearance during the beginning of the Direct.

Incineroar’s fighting style in the game is based off pro-wrestling. During battles, it will randomly pose for the audience after striking opponents, just like a real-life wrestler; and can force its opponents to “run the ropes” after a dash-and-grab.

Most of its moves are based off the Sun and Moon games, which include its signature attack: Darkest Lariat. Its specials include Cross Chop and Revenge.

Incineroar’s Final Smash will be Max Malicious Moonsault, in which it takes an opponent and smashes them down to the ground, creating a ring of fire all over the battle arena. This not only affects one opponent but all players in the battlefield.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be released on December 7th. Are you looking forward to it?
