First wave of generation four Pokémon added to GO

The Sinnoh Starters and more common Pokémon have been added! Shinx can be found as a Shiny too.

Pokémon GO now has generation four Pokémon! Niantic have confirmed via in-game news and their website that Pokémon shall be added in waves, so only some are currently available. There is no expansion to storage yet but they will come later.

Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region will be making their way to Pokémon GO in waves! So, you can look forward to discovering even more Pokémon over the next few weeks appearing in the wild, hatching from Eggs, and battling in raids. Stay tuned to our official channels for updates about new Pokémon, new features, and expansions to existing features like Pokémon storage and more!

So far, the following Pokémon and their evolutions (bar any third stage forms) have been sighted in the wild:

  • Chimchar
  • Turtwig
  • Piplup
  • Bidoof
  • Starly
  • Buneary
  • Chatot
  • Carnivine
  • Kricketot
  • Riolu (10 km Eggs)
  • Shinx (Raids/10 km Eggs – can be shiny!)
  • Pachirisu (Canada only?)

Current speculation is that Carnivine is only found in south-eastern America, while Chatot is southern hemisphere only. Pachirisu may be a Canada-only regional.

Meanwhile, reports have indicated Luxio has been hatching from 10 km Eggs – surely a bug at play here, or mistake. However this seems to have been fixed recently, and Shinx hatches now.

We’ll update as more news comes in.
