Newest Pokémon movie tops list in Japan

The Pokémon film “I Choose You!” made half a billion yen and beats out the likes of Cars 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean!

The latest Pokémon movie to grace the silver screen, I Choose You!, has had a strong opening to cinemas in Japan this week. It took out top spot, beating the likes of Cars 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dean Men Tell No Tales.

The film was watched by over 436,000 people and earned 516 million yen. This is a substantial increase (almost 60%!) to the previous movie, Pokémon the movie XY&Z: Volcanion and the Tricky Magearna.
