PokéCommunity Daily and Social Media Teams are recruiting – join us!
Join our staff team and help write and edit our articles, or run our social media platforms… or both!
We’re searching for more writers and editors to join the PokéCommunity Daily team, and people to help manage our social media pages.
In particular, we’re searching for the following (but we’ll accept applications of all sorts):
- Guides – Sometime next year Pokémon Legends: Z-A will release, and people will want advice on playing the game. Guides remain a popular type of article, and no doubt there’ll be more that can be used for the generation nine titles. Articles on TCG strategies, or guides on creative works such as art or making fangames, tend to view highly on Daily. If any of these interest you, consider sharing your tips and tricks here!
- Fan work features – We want to feature all the cool stuff on PokéCommunity! This is for both art and stories, and offering our members another way to showcase their work outside of forum threads or our Discord server’s channels! This can also extend to discussions or features of useful techniques and tools. If this is up your alley, you should apply!
- We’re also planning to launch new Daily articles for featuring stories and art galleries by PokéCommunity members. Helping port over forum threads into a Daily article will be quite desired!
- Opinions – More than just the news – what do you think of it? Or what does PC on the whole think of something, for that matter? Speculation articles are another aspect we welcome. Do you have some speculation about the upcoming games, or the current anime series?
- Creative articles – Anything is fair game here, whether it’s recipes, a review of towns in the games, or a guide on husbands! (No, really.)
- Headlines – We need people who will be keeping an eye out for any Pokémon news (big or small) and posting about it. Speed is of the essence, as these articles will need to be posted as soon as possible. We’re not looking to be a news site as a focus – but it’s good to keep our fellow members in the know, or to share your opinion on new developments or game reveals.
- Editors – We need more peoples to spot hour mistake! No need to write articles – just help out with any errors and applying corrections. This can also include giving feedback on article brainstorming and pitches.
- Artists – Every so often we would like a new article cover image to be put together, or even fancy CSS assembled for articles!
We have a variety of other positions which may not be covered by the above here. It’s possible that upon reviewing your application we decide that you may be suitable for one of those too. You can apply solely for these other positions – however our focus will primarily be on those which cover the types of articles above. If you are interested and would like to apply, please find below a link with more information on the application process. Pitching ideas for or even writing articles throughout the application season will work wonders for you!
What are our expectations of Daily staff members?
- Writers: we’d like an article written every two months, alongside regular participation in article brainstorming discussions among other tasks depending on current work.
- Editors: on average one proofed article each month, alongside participation in article brainstorming discussions among other tasks depending on current work, is expected.
A reminder too: you can write for Daily without being staff! You won’t get the perks of the staff rank, but you also won’t have to worry about how often you write, and instead do things at your leisure.
Applications will remain open until we feel we have enough people! Therefore, we suggest applying sooner rather than later. To apply for a Social Media Team position, please check out the instructions here.
