The next event for Pokémon GO has just been announced on the official website. The event starts on the 23rd of October at 1pm PDT, and lasts until the 1st of November 1pm PDT. It features the following:

• Double Candy for caught Pokémon
• New Pokémon including Drifloon and Stunky
• Shiny Drifloon release
• New Special Research task involving Spiritomb
• Giratina in Raid Battles until the 20th of November, 1pm PST
• Increased spawns of Dark and Ghost-type Pokémon
• New clothing, featuring Drifloon/Drifblim, Spiritomb and Mismagius
• New Field Research quests

The new Field Research quests for the event are as follows (details to be confirmed):

• Catch 5 Poochyena or Houndour – Sneasel Encounter
• Catch 5 Dark-type Pokémon – 500 Stardust
• Catch 10 Ghost-type Pokémon – Sableye Encounter
• Evolve 3 Duskull or Shuppet – Rare Candy
• Transfer 10 Pokémon – Misdreavus Encounter

As for the Special Research for Spiritomb, it comes in three parts. There is no time limit for it. Thus far we know:

• Part One: Catch 10 Ghost types (Duskull Encounter), Make 8 Great Throws (1080 XP), and Use 108 Berries to help catch Pokémon (Lickitung Encounter) – Final reward of 10 Poké Balls, 1080 Stardust and 8 Silver Pinap Berries
• Part Two: Catch 10 Dark types (Encounter), Spin 8 PokéStops you haven’t visited before (1080 XP), Catch 108 Pokémon (Spiritomb Encounter) – Final reward of 10 Poké Balls, 1080 Stardust and 8 Silver Pinap Berries
• Part Three: No quests – Final reward of 18 Spiritomb Candy, 1080 Stardust

The number 108 is related to the number of souls Spiritomb has, as well as its Sinnoh Pokédex number. Lastly, Witch-hat Pikachu has returned for the event, and as before can be Shiny.
