Hidden Ability Alola Region Starter Pokémon Now Available Via Pokémon Bank

Decidueye, Incineroar, and Primarina’s Hidden Abilities are now ready for action!

About time I got my Long Reach Decidueye.

This afternoon, Pokémon Bank users across the world began receiving THREE new Pokémon upon launching the service: Decidueye, Incineroar, and Primarina. These are the fully evolved forms of the starters from Pokémon Sun and Moon, as well as Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. The gifts arrive at Level 50 with no hold item, the recipient’s Trainer ID, and certain egg moves. However, they each do come with their Hidden Ability, all of which had been unavailable before this point.

Decidueye will have the Long Reach Ability, which causes moves it uses that would normally make contact with the opponent, like Leaf Blade, to hit without this contact. This means it won’t activate Abilities like Static or Iron Barbs that have an effect on contact.

Primarina will have the Liquid Voice Ability, which causes sound-based moves it uses, such as Hyper Voice, to become Water-type. This means the powerful Hyper Voice will now hit even harder! It will also have the egg move Perish Song, which causes all Pokémon on the field to faint within three turns of the move being used.

Incineroar will have the Intimidate Ability, and if you don’t know what that does you probably haven’t played a Pokémon game since Gen 3. Intimidate lowers the Attack of the opposing Pokémon. It will also have the egg move Fake Out, which will cause the target to flinch, but only works on the first turn it is sent out.

Have you picked up these lovely gifts? What do you think of the new Abilities?
