While the 1 year Anniversary Box in the Pokémon GO in-game shop has been regarded as a disappointment by many, Niantic have just added three more boxes – the Special, Great and Ultra Boxes.

What’s in them? And are they worth buying?

The Special Box has 6 Premium Raid Passes and 10 Pinap Berries, and costs 480 coins. This is a discount of 120 coins with some of the more useful Berries thrown in.

The Great Box has 12 Premium Raid Passes, 20 Pinap Berries, and 10 Lure Modules, and costs 980 coins. Here the savings are more substantial – 1,100 coins cheaper (ignoring the Pinap Berries).

Lastly the Ultra Box gives 4 Incense, 16 Premium Raid Passes, 30 Pinap Berries and 20 Lure Modules for 1,480 coins. The savings here is a whopping 2,200 coins – but it still does cost a lot.

If you only care about the Raid Pass items, then the Special Box is the best value. If you value Lure Modules at all, go for the pricier boxes (if you have the coins!) It should also be noted that these deals have been released rather soon after reports came in of Raid Battles becoming harder.
