Get ready for the Sun/Moon Special Demo Version

Get ready and make space for Ash-Greninja — the Sun/Moon Special Demo Version is 3100 blocks big.

Are you ready for Ash-Greninja? Get the Pokémon Sun and Moon Special Demo version on October 18, one month before the release of the full version!

From Nintendo’s press relations:

The Special Demo Version introduces players to the Alola region and features Ash-Greninja, the Pokémon that appears alongside the hero Ash in the animated TV series Pokémon the Series: XYZ. Players will be able to transfer their Ash-Greninja from the Special Demo Version to their full version of Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon once purchased when the games launch on November 18.

Like Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire’s Special Demo, you’ll likely be able to use Pokémon Link to transfer Ash-Greninja (and some other things, we hope) to the release version of Sun or Moon. What we know is that we’ll explore a little bit of Alola — whether that’s experiencing one part of an Island Trial or seeing and battling a whole bunch of new Alola Pokémon isn’t known yet. If the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire demo is anything to go by, you may even be playing in areas separate from the main story.

According to Serebii, the demo will require 3,100 blocks of space on the SD card in your 3DS:

For comparison, the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire demo takes up 2,000 blocks (250 MB) of space on your SD card.

To make sure you have space for the demo, check how many blocks you have through Data Management on your 3DS’s System Settings app. You will, of course, need access to the Nintendo eShop to download the demo. Don’t forget the SD card!
