iOS 16 will be compatible with Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

The newly announced iOS 16 will make it possible to play on iPhone with the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons and the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

As every year, Apple announced the new Operating System for the iPhone during the latest WWDC 2022 event. Launching this fall, the newest iOS 16 is going to offer a wide range of features, including the compatibility with Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons and the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

The new features introduced with the new Operating System are mainly focused on customization and privacy. The iPhone’s lock screen will have more themes available and the possibility to use widgets to keep track of the most important notifications. More than that, Apple is still interested in giving its users the best privacy. That’s why a new app will have its debut on the iPhone: Safety Check, which is going to notify the iPhone users about which other apps have their personal information. Furthermore, according to the Twitter user @rileytestut, the new Apple Operating System will support the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons and the Pro Controller on its devices. In the last years, the big company showed a lot of interest in introducing its users to gaming and this one is indeed a good opportunity to do so.

As known, the iconic controllers of the Nintendo hybrid console have always been able to connect with other devices via Bluetooth. In fact, it’s really easy to pair the Joy-Cons and the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller with a new device, be it a computer or an Android device. As illustrated in most guides, the steps are simple: first, you need to go into your device’s Bluetooth settings and make sure Bluetooth is enabled. Then, keep pressing the black button on the side of the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons or the one on top of the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller until they appear on the list of the available devices to connect with. However, it has to be pointed out that while it is possible to connect both Joy-Cons to a computer, an Android device will only support one. On the other hand, according to the information shared by @rileytestut, iOS 16 will be able to recognize every kind of Nintendo Switch controller and Joy-Cons will be usable either singly or together. Will you try this new feature?
