Players battle in teams of 5. You can catch wild Pokémon on the field to score points, and outscore your opponents within the time limit. Bases or ‘goals’ are also involved in scoring and can be destroyed.

The Pokémon you control begins at level 1 and unevolved. You can evolve and learn new moves as you level up your Pokémon. You can also unlock ‘Unite Moves’ to use in the match, a new feature in the franchise.

Pokémon Unite will be a free-to-start game on the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, and will have cross-play.
