The next Nintendo console, codename ‘NX’, is set to be released globally in the month of March, 2017. This news has come from the Nintendo annual financial update, and has been confirmed by the Nintendo of America Twitter account.

We’re bound to get some Pokémon games on this new system, but information on the system itself has remained scarce. We have this quote from a report released by Nintendo:
For our dedicated video game platform business, Nintendo is currently developing a gaming platform codenamed ‘NX’ with a brand-new concept. NX will be launched in March 2017 globally.
For Legend of Zelda fans, the upcoming title for Wii U will now also be on the NX, but only out on both platforms next year simultaneously. Meanwhile, the NX will not feature at E3 this year – likely it will get its own press conference or Nintendo Direct instead. We’ll update with any new information as it comes.
