The Pokémon World Journeys Tarot: Choosing Your Starter Pokémon Spread
Pick a Starter, any Starter…
This tarot spread is based on the classic method of choosing your Starter Pokémon. In many games, you choose your Starter Pokémon, your rival takes another, and the last Pokémon stays behind with the professor. Use this spread to gain insight on a situation, or when you need to make a choice.
- Your choice: How you perceive the situation(s) or decision(s) at hand.
- Your rival: The opposition or challenge(s) you can expect for each situation or decision.
- What’s left behind: The opportunity/opportunities you’ll miss out on for each situation or decision.
If you’re using this spread for insight into one situation, it will look like the Starter selection screen.

If you’re using the spread for multiple decisions, it will look more like a matrix. Use this to consider the details of each option.
