Pokémon Champions

Pokémon Champions is a new title, being planned by Game Freak and developed by Pokémon Works. It is a battle simulator focused title, and will be playable on the Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.

It will include support with Pokémon HOME. It does not yet have a release date. Latin American Spanish language support will be in place, as well as for Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

It’s been noted that “At the time of release, only select Pokémon will be available for use in Pokémon Champions—not all Pokémon available in Pokémon HOME will appear in Pokémon Champions”.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

The Starters of Pokémon Legends: Z-A are Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile. Yes, Tepig replaces Cyndaquil. The game is set in the future. An official website has also launched.

While visiting Lumiose City during your travels, you’ll come to stay in an old hotel named Hotel Z. This hotel will serve as your base as you and the new friends you’ll meet in Lumiose tackle all sorts of incidents that will occur in the city.

AZ returns with his Floette and runs a hotel. Your rival’s gender will be the opposite of yours, and their character names are Urbain and Taunie. Jett and Vinnie are other new characters, the CEO and secretary of Quasartico Inc. respectively.

There are wild habitats (‘Wild Zones’) within the setting, Lumiose City, for Pokémon to live in. You can run on rooftops and jump gaps thanks seemingly to the Rotom phone. Lumiose City is undergoing a high-tech urban redevelopment plan, managed by Quasartico Inc.

As part of Lumiose’s urban redevelopment plan, driven by a large corporation called Quasartico Inc., the city has been outfitted with “wild zones” in an effort to help humans and Pokémon share the city. These areas are constructed using cutting-edge technology to give Pokémon places to live. Within wild zones, you can battle Pokémon and catch them by throwing Poké Balls.

In previous titles in the Pokémon video game series, Pokémon took action once per turn. In Pokémon Legends: Z‑A, Trainers and their Pokémon will move around in real time during battles, and Pokémon will unleash their moves when their Trainers command them to.

Mega Evolution returns as teased. No new ones have been revealed yet. Zygarde is also in sighted as a Cell and with its other forms highlighted on the website – it also notes that it ‘seems to have taken a special interest in you’.

The game releases in Late 2025.
