The Name Rater: Sprigatito, Floragato, and Meowscarada Nicknames!

The Name Rater considers your nickname suggestions for the Sprigatito line!

Despite my allergies to… cat Pokémon, I’ll give your nicknames a go. I’m not allergic to nicknames for cat Pokémon, thankfully.

Dolma (stuffed grape leaves), I think it’s a cute name for little grass kitty :3

Dolma! Ah, delicious things. I don’t normally see it in restaurants around here. Perhaps I should look up a recipe… oh, you brought some as well? Great! I’ll nibble on them as I rate… anyway! I think it is a cute name too, but do consider how Sprigatito may take the idea of being named after food. Don’t tell it the name when your tummy is rumbly, is all.

Gatorade. Just because I like it as an alternative pun name for when it becomes Meowscarada.

First food, now drink? But yes, I do see that ‘Gato’ is the Spanish word for cat and also a species of cat, so that’s a nice touch. This.. isn’t a sponsored suggestion, is it? I’m not accepting Subway as the next name to be rated! Nor any cat-themed sponsorships like Purina, I think cat food gets my eyes watering too.

I named mine Bogart because my oc Bogart was on my mind at the time

& It fits even more so because there’s a belly dancer Meowascarda in Unite.

I presume this original character is not a foodstuff at least. A belly dancer outfit?

Huh. I guess this Meowscarada got a subclass/part-time-job besides magician?

I nicknamed mine as Catalina (Spanish origin name meaning pure) because Scarlet/Violet is based on Spain. Also, the name contains the word cat…!

Two in one! That’s very nice indeed. I quite like this choice here, well done. Especially for a female Meowscarda!

I called my first one Petals, but the second one I used I named Meow, (the nickname one of the characters in my sig gives to a cat-person character in SoD) and I ended up liking that better.

Petals has a relation to plants, certainly, and you could also say it fits with the rose Meowscarda uses-ACHOO

… So sorry, must be some fur someone brought in with their nickname… or maybe there’s some cat hair on this dolma? Hmm.

Anyway, I like Petals. However, while I don’t know what this SoD game is, you might call a trainer calling a Meowscarada ‘Meow’ a silly sod! Some Name Rater humour for you there, hehe. But if it’s a reference to a character from a game or show, then that makes it a little better.

I choose Sprigatito after looking up its final evolution, so I named mine Vega (Claw) after the character from Street Fighter. Vega (or Balrog in Japanese) is a fighter that hails from Spain and fights using a claw. He loves roses and is a bit of a vain fighter that is obsessed with beauty. So much so that he wears a mask just so his face isn’t damaged.

Another reference to a character… this seems popular this time around! Sounds like a valid basis for a good name. I think a Meowscarada wearing that mask would be rather scary for me though.

i dont play the new games but i would name mine Spring!

And for fun another name: Skitty 2.0

Spring is fine – it just seems to get used a lot for other Grass-types as well. Skitty 2.0… well, it’s funny, but mean to either Skitty or Sprigatito. Don’t make cat Pokémon jealous of each other, it can get messy! Man, my eyes are getting a bit watery just thinking about those angry cats…

I just named mine ‘El Gato’ on a whim when I played Violet for the first time =P

I think I’d now have named it ‘Catch’, because you know… it’s signature move is throwing bombs at opponents =P

El Gato definitely makes it sound European. I wonder how that sounds to people from there…? I should look into that. And hah, that’s a neat pun there, and well-worked into how it fights! I rea-haa, oh no…

ACHOOOO

That’s enough for today I think.
