New Pokémon reveal and Pokémon GO event incoming

Don’t get too hyped – generation eight is probably not yet confirmed. Pokémon GO will celebrate Kanto, while Ampharos gains a Dragon Move.

A trio of news has arrived today. New footage of the next Pokémon movie, Everyone’s Story, are to be released on Monday the 9th of April, as reported by Serebii.net. A key aspect is that a new Pokémon will be revealed!

Don’t get too excited though – it’s likely that this Pokémon is a new generation seven Pokémon that dataminers have already discovered lurking in the game files of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Nonetheless, a new creature which will eventually get a release is cause for interest and excitement.

Meanwhile, for Pokémon GO, Niantic announced that evolving a Flaaffy into Ampharos during the three-hour window will grant you the move of Dragon Pulse. For those confused about this choice of move, recall that Ampharos has a Dragon typing bestowed on it through Mega Evolution in the main series titles, and its Japanese name can be translated as ‘electric dragon’.

In a recent email to players subscribed to their mailing list, Niantic also teased an event on the 10th of April involving Kanto Pokémon.

Trainers, starting April 10, we’ll be hosting a special celebration in honor of the Kanto region in Pokémon GO! Keep your eyes on the official Pokémon GO website and social media channels for more information surrounding this event.
