[UPDATED] Pokémon GO – more Hoenn Pokémon on their way, including Shiny Aron

New Hoenn additions to Pokémon GO!

Starting later today, several Pokémon from the Hoenn region – including Lunatone, Solrock and Flygon – will be making their debuts in Pokémon GO. An entire 23 of them in fact, bringing our Gen 3 total up from 77 to 100 Pokémon! Make sure to keep an eye on here, as we will be updating you as soon as we catch wind of anything else!

The announcement also has a picture showing Groudon walking away – a nice reminder that Groudon has now been swapped for Kyogre in the game’s legendary raid feature.

Here is a list of the currently confirmed new Pokémon:

  • Baltoy / Claydol
  • Nosepass
  • Trapinch / Vibrava / Flygon
  • Numel / Camerupt
  • Cacnea / Cacturne
  • Solrock
  • Lunatone
  • Whismur / Loudred / Exploud
  • Aron / Lairon / Aggron
  • Lileep / Cradily
  • Anorith / Armaldo
  • Torkoal

Aggron is also a new level 4 Raid Boss.

Solrock and Lunatone appear to be regional-/time-locked Pokémon, meaning that they will not be present at the same time, as well as Torkoal (however yet to be confirmed, currently it only has been sighted in India). It also looks like we are starting to see them popping up, including this Aron which has been sighted and caught in-game, here’s a look at the nice shiny spotted on Pokémon GO Hub’s Twitter:

Not only is it new, but shiny too. Nice find!

Lastly, new Eggs obtained between the 24th of January (Japan time) and the 1st of February will hatch into a Hoenn Pokémon. Any Eggs obtained prior to today will not necessarily give you a third generation Pokémon however.
