Lunar New Year event for GO celebrates zodiac Pokémon
Will any of the 12 Pokémon to be featured be Shiny?
A new event has been announced via email to select players of Pokémon GO. While only a Spanish version was initially available, an official blog post has been made with full details. They are as follows:
- The event starts now and lasts until the 13th of February, 1 pm PST.
- 12 Pokémon are featured: Rattata, Ekans, Mankey, Electabuzz, Ponyta, Dratini, Mareep, Miltank, Torchic, Poochyena, Spoink and Buneary.
- These Pokémon will have increased spawns. Incidentally, each corresponds to an animal of the Chinese zodiac.
- Spoink can be Shiny.
- 2x Catch XP, 2x Evolution XP, and increased chance of Lucky Pokémon when trading.
As stated earlier, Spoink was the obvious Shiny choice for this event. Good luck finding it and other rare Pokémon during the event, trainers!
