Lugia and Ho-Oh confirmed as Research Breakthrough rewards

Lugia and Ho-Oh soar in as Research Breakthrough rewards? Could the Regis be next in line?

It appears that the next Research Breakthrough rewards for Pokémon GO have been confirmed.

The year 2019 is around the corner, and it’s already looking to be legendary! When you reach a Research Breakthrough in January and February, you’ll have the chance to encounter several Legendary Pokémon, including Lugia and Ho-Oh! pic.twitter.com/r0Q6DTqoOD

Starting next month and continuing into February, Lugia and Ho-Oh will appear as Research Breakthrough rewards. There is only a chance for them to appear however; the December Research Breakthrough Pokémon in Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno, Entei, Suicune and Raikou may appear instead. It is also not known yet if Lugia and Ho-Oh can be Shiny in Research Breakthroughs, like the Kanto Legendary birds can.
