Celebi quests revealed and new outfits available for Pokémon GO

You can begin the quests for Celebi right now!

Long-time Pokémon GO Dataminer Chrales has revealed all the new research quests required to unlock Celebi in the game. These have just gone live as well, alongside the Johto event which makes generation two (Johto) Pokémon more common. This latter effect is expected to last a week.

While maybe not as hard as earning 400 Magikarp Candy, quests have minimum time limits on them – e.g. “Catch a Pokémon 3 Days in a row”. Therefore you shouldn’t expect to get Celebi ASAP. The quests are as follows (numbers not yet known):

Quests in order

  1. Power up Pokémon 5 times, Battle in a Gym 2 times, and Battle in a raid
Rewards: 10 Poké Balls, TM, Super Incubator
  2. Make 3 new friends, Evolve an evolved Grass-type Pokémon (E.g. Gloom, Weepinbell), Catch a Pokémon 3 Days in a row
Rewards: 1500 Stardust, 1 Sun Stone, 1 Premium Raid pass
  3. Reach level 25, evolve Gloom or Sunkern with a Sun Stone, Hatch 9 Eggs
Rewards: King’s Rock, Premium Raid Pass, Pokémon encounter (Eevee)
  4. Walk 10 km with Eevee as your Buddy to earn Candy, Evolve Eevee into Espeon during the day, Send 20 Gifts to friends.
Rewards: Metal Coat, 2,500 Stardust, Pokémon encounter (Eevee?)
  5. Walk 10 km with Eevee as your Buddy to earn Candy, Evolve Eevee into Umbreon during night, Trade a Pokémon.
Rewards: Starpiece, 15 Pinap Berries, Upgrade
  6. Visit PokéStops 7 days in a row, use 25 Pinap Berries while catching Pokémon, Use items to evolve Pokémon 2 times.
Rewards: 3500 Stardust, Dragon Scale, 5 Silver Pinap Berries
  7. Catch 40 Grass and Psychic-type Pokémon, Make an excellent curveball throw, Earn a Gold Johto medal.
Rewards: 1 TM, 10 Silver Pinap Berries, Celebi Encounter
  8. Catch Celebi!
Rewards: 5500 Stardust, Super Incubator, 20 Celebi Candy
